NEW BEZZAZ MOSQUE

This mosque was built by a merchant called Bezzazzade Ahmet, and by-named İbn-i Bazergan, during the reign of Mehmed the Conqueror (1451-1481). Although being also known as ”Reyhan mosque” situated in the neighbourhood of the same name, the orginal ”Reyhan” Mosqueis situated nearby, but this mosque is called ”Asemler” Mosque. As, it is built during the reing of ibn-i Bezzaz ( or ”Bezaz-ı Cedid”).

is main prayer hall, together with its portico for latecomers, is the mosque’s frontage is built with a gable wall, an element frequently seen with Bursa masjids. It is buılt with a chord with three arches. This structure was renovated in 1805, in 1996.
