The mosque, built by Çelebi Sultan Mehmed in 1419-1420, is one of the mosques with a plan containing “┴ ” (tabhane (Imaret and resting place)-zawlyah).
Architecture
Its architect is Vezir Hacı Ivaz Pasha. The embroidery was made by Nakkaş Ali bin Ilyas All. The mosque, which was completed during the reign of Murad II., is dominated by stone. wood, plaster and hand-drawn decorations. The tiles of the mosque were made by Mecnun Mehmed. The construction consists of the two-storey Mosque, two domed rooms, a room with a dome next to each of them, and a room at the corners. Sshelves and a hearth made of plaster decorate the kibla walls of the rooms.
