It was built by Yıldırım Bayezid at the end of the 14th century. It has a plan scheme defined as pointy (Inverted T) or tabhaneli (with private rooms). The mosque is considered as the most beautiful work of its era in terms of stonework, as a plain structure, far from almost any kind of decor. In addition, the building, which is accepted as one of the first mature examples of the Ottoman Empire, was the first structure in which the Bursa Arch was also used in the architecture history in the world.
