Neither the name of the sponsor of this mosque nor the date of its construction is clear, but it is believed to be built in the first half of the 15th century by Yigitoglu Hadji Ali, who also built “Yigit Kohne” Mosque at the beginning of Cumhuriyet Road. The name of the first mosque built for Yigit is “Kohne”, which means “old”, so it is believed that this second one was named “Cedid, which means “new”
